Live From The Streets: "Tent City"

If you follow us regularly, you'll know that we keep up on Mr. Green's "Live From The Streets" series. This morning I found a new addition to the series, with another interesting use of a sample. This time, Mr. Green visits a small village called "Tent City", where around 40 people live together in tents. He meets up with one of the citizens, gets his story, and a recording of him singing. Later, the recording was sampled into a beat that Mr. Green would proceed to get two emcees to spit over. I was browsing through my Facebook feed today, and I seen a link posted by an old friend from high school, Infameezy. Looks like he's posting beat videos, and if you like the beat you can download it for free. It says on the video still shot, "Free Beats for kicks. Mr. Green: Live from the Streets ft. Peter Rosenberg, Soul Khan and Uncle Terry

If you are a fan of beatmaking, you'll be sure to find this interesting. Mr. Green has produced instrumentals for well-known emcees including Pace Won, Young Zee, Jedi Mind Tricks, and several others. If you search him on YouTube, he's most popular for his "Live From the Streets" series. This series takes you on a journey through the neighbourhoods of many cities in the United States, where Mr. Green is on a search for street performers. He'll record audio clips of the street performers and take the audio files back to the lab and create a beat out of the samples. I think this is a really creative way of showing people that there's more to music than just instruments and typical composition. Creativity and imagination are also key elements to producing unique sounds. This is just one example of the many videos he's contributed to this interesting series. Open Ya Earz!

Behind the Beat: Ketros

Whattup world! This right here is the first ever "Behind the Beat" edition here at Eternal Cadence. Every now and then, when I find a dope producer, I'm gonna showcase their art and provide a little background on them. Too much talent goes unnoticed, and this is my way of helping the unheard have a voice! With this edition, I figure there's no better way to start it off than to expose you to talent from my own city. Lately, I've been seeing a bunch of soundcloud links on my Facebook feed. Most of the time, they're beats produced by Ketros. And if his beats are only gonna get better, that's completely fine with me. Pretty much all of his beats include that classic "boom bap" feel, which is complimented by soulful samples. But anyways.. less talking, more dope instrumentals! Open ya Earz!

About Me: I've been producing beats now for about five years. When I started, I was working with FL Studio 6, and downloaded FL 7, then instantly became addicted to beatmaking.
