Ever since Jon Connor announced his official deal with Aftermath, I've been eager to hear what's next to come from the Flint, Michigan emcee. Today I found this track by him which keeps that classic Jon Connor vibe, but the beat sorta amps it up a little more than usual. Never heard of those Maffew Ragazino or SRH dudes, but they were iight. Check it!

Happy Halloween! If you can't already feel the eery mood in the air, Xzibit, B-Real & Demrick are here to supply it. The collaboration of the 3 emcees forms the group Serial Killers, and this self-titled project is their first. It features some joints produced by ILL BILL, C-Lance, Green Lantern, Statik Selektah, and features verses from Jon Connor, Hopsin, Kurupt & a couple others. Check it.

BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher ft. Jon Connor, Rittz, Wax, Rapsody & Emis Killa

 

I didn't watch the BET Hip Hop Awards because I checked all of the nominees for all of the categories and decided it probably wouldn't interest me. But some of these cyphers are dope. Man I got nothing but respect for Jon Connor. And I'm glad I ain't gotta feel guilty for the 2nd line above, because I ain't got nothin' but love for what this dude's tryna do! This is track 17 from Jon Connor's latest album, Unconscious State, which just dropped yesterday. The video to go along with it is well done, and provides a gritty feel to match the not-give-a-fuck attitude that Jon displays in this track. Check it!

"Tryna Get On" by Tito Lopez ft. Jon Connor

This collaboration was bound to happen. I kinda feel like both Jon Connor and Tito Lopez are in a similar position in the rap game. They both have their own independent fan bases, they're both dope, and I feel like they're both underrated. Which is what makes this song seem so creative. They're both tryna get on and you can see it if you pay attention. I don't think this is from a project, just a new single. At first I wasn't a fan of the beat but I adjusted to it once they both started spittin sick verses. All in all, it's a dope collab, check it.

Fly city, what the bloodclaat? Why you gotta breed such a dope rapper for? Jesus Christ. I really like this song. The beat's got a sick feel to it, and Jon Connor's voice sounds so clear n crisp over it. Not to mention the fact that he murks it. I'm not a big Talib Kweli fan, but I guess he was alright. Once again, this is another song by Jon Connor with some good quotables in it. Not sure if this is a song from his upcoming project, "Unconscious State" or not, but it'd definitely make the cut if it were my choice. Check it!

One thing that stands out to me about Michigan is the concentration of dope music that comes outta there. This track right here features two crazy Michigan artists, Jon Connor and Royce. The song kinda lacked substance, but it was still a dope track. They both killed their verses, and the beat that sounded like it'd be kinda annoying at first turned out to be alright. This track's apparently from Jon Connor's upcoming album, "Unconscious State" which drops June 4, 2013. Check it!

Today's a big day for Jon Connor. The Flint, Michigan emcee finally got himself a nifty lil website for the fans to check out [www.JonConnorMusic.com]. In celebration of the website's launch, he decided to release this song. "All 4 U" is a track that didn't make it onto his "Unconscious State" project, which should be coming soon. The link above has the option for you to download it for free, which I think you should do because this track is fire. Nice beat, sick flow n rhymes, and as always Jon Connor keeps it 100 for ya.

This is fuckin' sick. The Flint, Michigan native is always making that real, straightforward music. I love how in his music he can choose beats to perfectly match the idea he wants to get across, and flow it without any flaws. The video for this track was sick too, and Lia Mack has a beautiful, soothing voice. I think Crooked I would agree that this fits the criteria of the music he was talkin bout in the "Adorn Freestyle" posted below this one. Enjoy!

Amidst the outbreak of thousands of mediocre new-school rappers, very few catch my attention. I'm very picky and it's usually either dope or wack with me, no in betweens. One artist that has managed to catch my attention is Jon Connor. This dude has crazy flow and seems to have flawless breath control. I feel like he keeps a good balance between his street attitude, and his ability to make his music relateable. This track reflects the more "cocky rapper" side of him. So Brenton always makes fun of me for being a fan of Phil Collins, particularly for liking his version of True Colours. So when I saw the title of this song I thought it'd be funny if it was sampled but fortunately it wasn't. I only found out about this guy from Brenton posting him on the blog but the guy is pretty dope and I personally loved this song. I really love the feel of the beat and the chorus, kinda broke me up in way. Jon Connor always talks about some really deep shit and the topics in this song are no exception. The video is pretty intense to watch too. Check it out.

Ever since Jon Connor dropped a crazy verse on Mayday's TNT Remix, I've been checkin' up on his shit. He's not the greatest when it comes to multi-syllable rhymes, but he always has cool ideas of what to rap about and can flow like a beast! This song, "Just Paper" makes you think twice about what fame really consists of, and how it can change those around you. That's after he lets you know how soft you are and how sick he is lol.  The second verse is a little more meaningful and outlines how much money should really mean to us. Because at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of sheets of paper. Open ya Earz!

Hova Mojo by Jon Connor

Last week, I listened to the second remix of Mayday's song "TNT". On the last verse, they included an emcee that I had never heard of before named Jon Connor. For that song, I honestly think he had the best verse out of anybody. So today I was browsing online and came across this new video by Jon Connor, entitled "Hova Mojo" and decided I should check it out. But anyways this track turned out to be pretty dope and I figured I'd share it. The sample used for the beat sounds soooo familiar, but I can't point out where it's from. And I really liked the dude's comment at the beginning of the video, that was some real shit. Anyways, check this shizznit. Open Ya Earz!

TNT Remix by Mayday ft. Black Thought, DJ Khaled, Jay Rock, Jon Connor& Stevie Stone

Yeeeea buddy. Another remix to TNT! So glad they included Black Thought in this shit. Although DJ Khaled had yet another unnecessary yelling moment, this song's pretty dope. Open ya Earz!
