"No Competition" by Talib Kweli, Elzhi & Phonte [prod. Khrysis]

"I point it right where her thong at/
And knocked it loose, and like Dr. Seuss, I gave the cat the long hat/
And shift the bed with this gift instead/
Illest, pointin' the infa red at an infant head/"

Originally check this song specifically for the Elzhi verse. And it's definitely the highlight of the song for me, but these guys all killed it. From the verses to the production, everyone involved in this was at the top of their game. Dope shit. Check it.

"Violations" by Talib Kweli ft. Raekwon

Pocket full of coins, producers on set/
Niggas with the coupes is on next/
The losers gon step, The users gon check/
We choosin our ninjas, the jewels is on deck/"

Listening to this song was strange for me, because I'm typically not very fond of Raekwon, and Talib Kweli's always either hit or miss for me. But they were both killin it in this song so I had to share it. This is probly the most multisyllable rhymes that I've heard Raekwon spit in a verse. I'm impressed.

"Rise Up" by Jon Connor ft. Talib Kweli

"Seduction or corruption have us all fucked/
Before we all stuck, see the light before we awe struck/
Back to that baby momma nigga, here you little boy come/
Lifetime to build a future, only seconds to destroy one/"

Fly city, what the bloodclaat? Why you gotta breed such a dope rapper for? Jesus Christ. I really like this song. The beat's got a sick feel to it, and Jon Connor's voice sounds so clear n crisp over it. Not to mention the fact that he murks it. I'm not a big Talib Kweli fan, but I guess he was alright. Once again, this is another song by Jon Connor with some good quotables in it. Not sure if this is a song from his upcoming project, "Unconscious State" or not, but it'd definitely make the cut if it were my choice. Check it!

"Congregation" by Talib Kweli ft. Black Thought & Ab-Soul

"Weakening niggas with fever, it's sweeter than diabetics/
Get deaded tryin' to said it, They'll tie you up like a fetish/
They'll gas you up like unleaded and let it off, Till you wetter than spaghetti sauce/
And lettuce, chopped up with your body left in the crevice/"

This track right here is from Talib Kweli's recently released mixtape, Attack the Block. It features Black Thought of The Roots, and Ab-Soul of Black Hippy. The beat for this track is absolutely crazy. Its got a chillin, yet kinda twisted feel to it, and 3 of the emcees brought their a-game over top of it. "The Empire" by Iron Solomon ft.Talib Kweli

"Different backgrounds, but we came through the same struggle/
Dreamin' of fame, we wrote our names on the train tunnels/
Runnin' round the city like rats in crawlspaces/
Catchin' court cases for jackin' North Faces/"

I found this track from another blog page that I contribute posts to, FORM (which is also a very interesting page that you should check out). I've heard Iron Solomon from YouTube rap battles, but I haven't really sent my attention towards his music. I really liked the feel of the beat, which was produced by Iron Solomon, and the video contained a lot of interesting snapshots of NYC. Talib Kweli drops an alright verse as well, but my favourite part of the song is the 3rd verse, during the vintage film part of the video.
