Here's some Slumerican shit. Rittz is dropping "Next to Nothing" on September 9th, and as far as I can remember this is the first official release from it. Although I didn't really like the buzzing in the chorus, I thought the rest of it was pretty dope. Rittz kills it as usual but Yelawolf and Shawty Fatt both had pretty strong verses as well. New track and video from Yelawolf today and I was really feeling it. This song is the fifth installment of his Box Chevy saga and it's got some really cool elements. I like the setting and some of the interesting camera shots which highlight it. He keeps it pretty real and brings a catchy chorus but when that guitar kicks in with Yela just jamming in his truck during the third verse I was officially hooked. Yelawolf is definitely something different and I don't think he's everyone's favourite but I think the dude has stuck true to what hip-hop is about and he keeps me coming back. Check it out.

This may be the most mainstream sounding joint I've ever posted to this blog. But I have my reasons. The message behind this song is awesome, and it makes the all too familiar radio sound bearable. I feel like Jelly Roll was trying to adapt and maybe get this joint on the radio, and I'm hoping it works for him because this is the kinda shit that could improve mainstream standards. Check it.

The music team over at Famous Stars and Straps have finally collaborated to make some dope music. This Travis Barker x Scoop Deville produced beat features Paul Wall, Hopsin and Yelawolf, all of which are sponsored by FSAS. Thus, the title of the song. Check it.

So overall I hadn't been feeling Trunk Muzik Returns cuz the beat selection wasn't my particular preference but this one song instantly had me bumping. This is the kinda nasty stuff I was loving from Trunk Muzik 0-60 with Yelawolf just repping the crazy country life and screaming his ass off loud as he can. The effect used in the chorus is pretty grimy and the instrumental has some pretty cool, eery elements that make me feel like I'm lurking through a swamp looking for alligators to shoot haha. A Psycho White Halloween! Push Em and Whistle Dixie by Travis Barker & Yelawolf

 

 I've been hearing a few tracks off Yelawolf's and Travis Barker's new joint cd Psycho White and so far I've been digging em. Even if it's not your kinda thing I like the original sounds coming from the pair. Both these songs have a feel I haven't heard from anyone else recently and I dig it. The first track is just some crazy quick fire drumming from Barker with some good screaming and shit from Yela. Song makes me wanna jump in a mosh pit or flail my hair around but unfortunately it isn't long enough.

 

This second song was released just today and the video, although quite confusing to me, is more creepy in the spirit of Halloween. I really liked the beat providing the chorus with the whistle. The effect on Yela's voice with the short verses made a cool song in my opinion too. Got Yelawolf and his gang rockin some facepaint in this too, gotta love it. Don't know why the hell Danny Trejo was in the video though haha.

So Brenton calls me a goof sometimes for liking Yelawolf cuz he definitely does
not. He thinks his voice and rapping style is weird and annoying. But I know since I showed him a little bit that despite his dislike for him, Brenton can recognize Yelawolf is real to himself and working hard for what he wants. Anyways, tommorrow is father's day and after I featured Tech N9ne's "Mama Nem" for mother's day I figured I should find a track about dads. While I was searching my facebook updated saying Yelawolf released this new track just this evening. I really liked the beat and thought it was some real shit. I've actually been noticing Yelawolf can sing not too bad either. Haha check it out. Happy Father's Day!

Outlaw Shit by Struggle ft. Yelawolf & Waylon Jennings

I do not really know who this artist is and this is actually the first song I heard by him. I checked the video cuz it said Yelawolf was in it but I ended up being more impressed than I was expecting. This guy didn’t turn out to be some crazy lyricist but the songs some real shit. The video is also pretty cool, it’d be a fucked up predicament to find yourself in. Finally, I actually really dug Yelawolf’s part more than I think I would have if he full out rapped. I felt his raspy, higher singing voice fit the song. Hip-Hop songs like these can sometimes make me appreciate some of what country has to offer to its fans.
